Step by Step Guide

This quick guide shows you how to use the AccessPal prototype — Note the Prototype is not fully functional yet, but it gives you a good idea of how the final product will work.

1. Select your preferred language

Un-tick the "Auto-detect language" option to select your preferred language. You can choose between English, or Shona, to Note the Prototype is not fully functional yet, but it gives you a good idea of how the final product will work.

  • You can say: "Hey", "Hello", "Hi", "Morning", "Evening", "Greetings", "Wassup", etc
  • In Shona: "Mhoro", "Wakadini", "Waswera sei", "Mangwanani", "Masikati", "kwaziwai" etc

2. Send Money Command

Use these key commands to initiate a money transfer through platforms like EcoCash or Innbucks. The assistant recognizes several phrases in both English and Shona that indicate your intention to send money.

  • In English: "send money", "transfer", "Ecocash", "Innbucks", "transaction", "money transfer", "make a transaction"
  • In Shona: "tumira mari", "tumira", "Ecocash", "Innbucks", "senda", "transfeya", "transfare", "svitsa", "kuti utumire mari", "kuti utumire"

3. Check Balance Commands

Use this command to check how much money you have in your account. The assistant understands various phrases in both English and Shona that relate to balance inquiries.

  • In English: "check balance", "balance", "account balance", "how much do I have"
  • In Shona: "tarisa mari yasara", "mari yasara", "tarisa balance", "mari yangu", "ndine mari yakawanda sei"

4. Buy Airtime Command

Use this command to purchase airtime for your phone or someone else's. The assistant recognizes several related phrases in both English and Shona.

  • In English: "buy airtime", "airtime", "recharge", "top up"
  • In Shona: "tenga airtime", "airtime", "recharge", "ndoda kutenga airtime"

5. Make Call Command

Use this command to initiate a phone call. The assistant understands common terms used for making calls in both English and Shona.

  • In English: "call", "phone", "dial"
  • In Shona: "fona", "ridza", "dana"

6. Check Time Command

Use this command to ask for the current time. The assistant can respond with the exact time using common expressions in both English and Shona.

  • In English: "what time", "current time", "check the time", "time now", "tell me the time", "time"
  • In Shona: "nguva yazvino", "nguva", "ndiudzewo nguva", "nguva chii"
